The PCE-PST 1 Adhesion Tester is designed to test the adhesive strength of coating edges to their respective substrates and their manufacturing quality. Feed rate, travel distance, tension and angle of attack remain constant. Spherical guides in contact with the test surface to be measured reduce the coefficient of friction. Likewise, self-locking jaws and smooth guide rollers guarantee reliable and reproducible results. Measurement errors caused by the "human factor" are reduced to a minimum.The PCE-PST 1 Adhesion Tester is designed for adhesive forces up to 500 N or 110 lbs. With a travel distance of 100 mm (3.9 in) and a speed of 0.3 m/min (11.8 in/min), the measurement can be performed by trained personnel in less than a minute. The clamping mechanism clamps the test tip and the measurement is carried out in automatic mode as soon as the actuation force of 20 N is reached. At the end of the measurement process, statistical data, including minimums, are displayed on the screen and maximum values, as well as an average value of edge coating strength. If necessary, the evaluation of the measurement can also be done through the supplied software that calculates different statistical values as well as the display of a diagram with force-time parameters.
