ASKER Type CS Rubber Hardness Meter is a type of ASKER Durometer Type CS manufactured in a Japanese factory according to JIS and ISO international standards.
Features ASKER Type CS . Rubber Hardness Meter
The ASKER Type CS rubber durometer is designed to reduce false readings of measurements for polystyrene foam by simultaneously deforming multiple granular foams. The larger concave tip and stronger spring than the ASKER Type C enable stable measurement of large granular particles such as polystyrene foam.
The pressure foot has a diameter of 50mm in contact with the sample, wide enough for stable measurement.
Our product line includes a wide variety of durometers applicable to specific materials as indicated in the chart above.
Type A durometer (type ASKER A), conforming to JIS K 6253-3 standard is the most common type of durometer for measuring the hardness of rubber.
However, verification is recommended as significant differences are estimated to be greatest when the durometer indicates measurement values from 10 to 90 points.
For hardness test pieces where a Type A Hardness Tester reading indicates more than 90 points, measurements should be made with a Type D Hardness Tester (ASKER D type). However, for soft test pieces with a measurement of less than 20 points, it is recommended to use a Type C or Type E durometer (type ASKER E). The most important consideration in using a durometer is to choose the right type for the purpose of specimen measurement.

- The shape of the indenter is hemispherical with a height of 2.54mm.
- The pressure surface that comes into contact with the sample is wide, 44mm wide x 18mm deep, allowing stable measurements. There is also a long leg type (C1L type) that can measure even when the measuring part of the sample is narrow or concave .
