Portable Gas Detector

A portable gas detector is a handheld type that a worker can carry or attach to the body. It is possible to detect and measure toxic gas around a moving worker and/or in specific palces which may be dangerous. It can discover the leakage of combustible or toxic gases at an early stage, and can also measure the concentration of oxygen. Thanks to its use, accident prevention in the factory or industrial setting can be increased significantly.

There are 2 gas sampling methods for a gas detector to adjust to miscellaneous environments. One is the pump drawing type. There are several usages for this, such as finding a leaking position or inspecting the danger of potential gases prior to working in a manhole. The other way is the difussion method. This is used to monitor the peripheral safety of a worker in real time as the instrument is small and light.

Fixed Gas Detector

The fixed gas detector lineup is divided into detector heads, indicator/alarm units and stand-alonemodels that combine these 2 systems. At the same time, there are 2 types of detector heads. One is the smart type, with the gas concentration display that can be used also as a sole unit. The detector head is used to confirm the concentration around the detector head. The other type combines the detecor head with the indicator/alarm unit. It is used to confirm the concentration only at the nonhazardous area and the concentration confirmation where the gas detector is set up. As for the indicator/alarm unit, Riken Keiki has single or multi point devices depending if one or more detector heads are connected. Additionally, all this is monitored by a system configuration that control the signals that each indicator/alarm unit introduces in the monitoring system.
